Hotel Aspromonte is in a privileged position for a 3-star hotel in Milan: between the Loreto subway stop (MM1) and Piola (MM2) from which you can reach the Historic Center (Duomo) in just a few minutes and the air terminal in Central Station and Stazione Cadorna. At 15 minutes from Fieramilanocity and from Meazza Stadium, and at 30 minutes from the new Rho Fair Center, our delightful Liberty-style building overlooks the beautiful Piazza Aspromonte, which was created at the beginning of the 20th century and is famous all over Milan for the beautiful and very green public gardens with more than 135 tall trees some of which are a century old, with games for children, a basketball field and a great number of benches. From the Piazza and in just a few minutes, tram 33 (goes by Central Station) reaches Corso Como, the fashion and entertainment district and a place to hang out for those who enjoy the nightlife . From Hotel Aspromonte, a short walk will get you to Città Studi (City of Studies) (filobus (cable car) 90-91-93), to the campus of the Politecnico of Milan in Via Garofalo, Via Ampere, Via Bonardi and Piazza Leonardo da Vinci, and to the Università Statale (State University), the site of the Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences and Pharmacy faculties, located between Via Celoria, Via Mangiagalli and Via Venezian. Just as quickly you can reach the National Institute for the Study and Cure of Tumors (Via Venezian 1), the National Neurological Institute Carlo Besta (Via Celoria 11) and the Poli specialistico Santa Rita Hospital (Via Catalani 4). As well, the San Raffaele Hospital is easily accessed with the MM2 metro that goes to Cascina Gobba. For those wishing to visit the most famous museums and monuments of the city, we suggest you get off at the Duomo stop of the red metro (MM1) to see the famous gothic Cathedral with the unmistakable facade with its many spires and the Madonnina (Virgin) towering on top; the La Scala Theater, the international opera temple; the Palazzo Reale, a museum housing important exhibitions, and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, the “Salon of Milan”, with its many bars, restaurants and bookstores. Or take green metro (MM2) if you want to get to Brera for a visit to the splendid Pinacoteca Ambrosiana which houses Italian and Flemish masterpieces, and also to get to the medieval church of Sant’Ambrogio and to Santa Maria delle Grazie, where in the refectory you can find the very beautiful Last Supper by Da Vinci. For those who love shopping: a 5-minute walk from Hotel Aspromonte and you are on Corso Buenos Aires which offers a huge number of stores of all types. Next, make a short stop at the gardens of Porta Venezia, where the Osservatorio Astronomico Planetario (Planetarium) and the Modern Art Gallery can be found, and then continue on to the fashion "square", the area delineated by: Via Montenapoleone (MM1 San Babila), Via della Spiga, Via Manzoni and Via Sant’Andrea. Don't miss the open-air markets, held every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, very close to where Hotel Aspromonte is located. Around the hotel, you will find a great choice of places to eat from, such as trattorias, local spots, ethnic restaurants, pizzerias, and bars. Those who love movies will have a big selection to choose from at the Multisala Splendor (at 100 m) and also at the Plinius movie theater. |
